~Our Policies~

Our policies are really quite basic and simple- we try to treat others as we would like to be treated. We do reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, though, since we realize that in the real world, there are people who don't operate in that fashion. In general, we try to make people happy, by doing what we can for them, within reason. If you're unhappy with some aspect of our workmanship, etc., let us know, rather than staying unhappy- we'll work with you on the problem!

The following are just some friendly reminders, to help keep everyone happy:

1.) We will not henna children under the age of eight, for two reasons- one is, small children don't hold still for very long, and are prone to "messing with" anything placed on their skin, including henna (and Band-Aids!) The other reason is the very remote chance that the child may have G6PD Deficiency, which you can read more about
here. This rule is for the happiness and well-being of everyone involved- and not to worry, there are other means of decorating a little person, that don't involve the degree of patience that mehndi does!

2.) We operate by appointment only. Since our workplace is also our home at this time, this is the way it has to be. Also, it would be pointless to attempt to "drop in" for mehndi work- the henna paste takes time and effort to make, and has to made well ahead of time. Please, please, call ahead and make an appointment- this ensures that we'll be prepared for you, and the evil Dust Bunny and his ilk can perhaps be conquered prior to your arrival!

3.) We will not do any mehndi work for minors without first receiving express permission from a parent or guardian. There is a good reason for this: although mehndi is NOT permanent, and DOES NOT involve needles, etc., SOMEONE'S Mom or Dad is going to object, at some point....and I'd like that to happen only in the very distant future, if at all. If you're having trouble talking your Mom, Dad, or Significant Ruling Being, into allowing you to have mehndi done, have them read our
Mehndi section, and perhaps the Black Henna section (this might just scare them into having it done by someone who will never use the stuff!) Just remember- accurate information and good communication have a way of greasing the skids far more effectively than trying to sneak something past someone. Trust is everything.

4.) Currently, we take cash, money orders, and cashier's checks for work done locally or items purchased here in the Boise area. We will accept PayPal payments, if you live out of the area, wish to use a credit card, or are making a purchase from us online at
http://www.LeopardstripesDesign.etsy.com. These are the only methods of payment that we will accept, no personal checks whatsoever. Sorry. We're also very cautious in regard to cashier's checks and money orders- we will have to have our bank verify them first, before services can be performed, or items are shipped. We've seen too many bad, sad things happen to people, both vendors and buyers- vendors get ripped off, people go to jail for passing bad checks or counterfeiting- the whole thing is just too unpleasant. Why invite trouble, is what we think!

5.) As noted in our
Freebies section, we will gladly give you a free estimate for repairs or revamps on jewelry items- but also as noted in that section, if you are shipping it to us from a distance, please remember to include a prepaid shipping label. If you don't, we reserve the right to hold on to the item or items until we receive payment for return shipping, should you decide not to have the work done. If you decide to have us do the work for you, we can include the return shipping in the total bill, and all's well.

6.)If you can't make it to an appointment with us, we ask that you let us know 24 hours or more in advance. We realize that sometimes, there are emergencies, and they can't all be forseen or avoided- but understand that after three or more of these, we're going to be wary of you as a customer, and that ol' "right to refuse service" thing might come into play. Good communication with us can help to avoid that ugly scenario. Also, for private parties at places of your choosing (private home, bridal party, etc.), if the appointment is not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, any deposits or gig fees are forfeited automatically. Fair is fair- we strive to be on time, and to be where we say we will. We're just asking the same of you.

7.) We will do our very best, to do our very best, for you! If you have any questions, regarding these policies, or anything else,
contact us.
